Artificial intelligence that matches or exceeds human ability across nearly all cognitive tasks.

AGI is the long-term goal of AI research, in contrast to narrow AI built for specific tasks. Today's LLMs show strong general capabilities, but real AGI remains out of reach and its definition is still debated.
